With roots in choro and jazz, Latif merges Brazilian styles and a classical guitar technique with diverse musical influences. In his melodic phrasing one hears bebop and Brazilian syncopations, and in his virtuosity the energy of flamenco.Latif started his studies at age fourteen. The movie "3 Blood Brothers" will tell the story of the 3 brothers, 3 resisting human beings, who performed a very important role in the social, politic and artistic history of their country. Each one, acting in a total different area, played an important role in the struggle against dictatorship in Brazil. They were: Betinho, a social scientist; Henfil, a cartoonist; and Chico Mario, a musician. Chico Mario's sun, pianist Marcos Souza will open the evening playing compositions specially composed for the film.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.3irmaosdesangue.com.br/" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.3irmaosdesangue.com.br/&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Marcos Souza&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Composer, pianist, journalist, producer and director of the company Atelier Cultural since 1998, Marcos Souza started his career as a musician at the age of 16. As a musician, he founded and organized in 1994 the group Conversa de Cordas, which released two CDs. In 1998, he recorded a CD with a Duo of piano and cavaquinho, named Duo2. In 1999, he released the CD Marionetes with the singer Regina Spósito, from Minas Gerais. His fifth CD, Marcos Souza, was released in 2004, and was his first solo work and the soundtrack of the film-documentary Evandro Teixeira, Instantâneos da Realidade. He attende the Conservatory in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, where he percussion and drums. He also attended lessons at Conjuncto Folclorico Nacional de Cuba, and practiced percussion in Africa, New York and Brazil. Approaching 10 years of success, the project mixed brazilian musicians with guests from all around the world.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Wilson Matuoka, project's founders says “The idea of this project is to promote a place that musicians can present their work (pocket shows) an join together and their guests at the end in a big jam session".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In its first Dutch edition the project will present the fusion between dutch and brazilian musicians. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cellist &lt;strong&gt;Ernst Reijseger &lt;/strong&gt;and &lt;strong&gt;Martin Fondse &lt;/strong&gt;toured Brazil in March 2008. Both musicians are highly individual and combine an open ear, versatility and creativity with a great deal of humor. Their concerts are always surprising, challenging and moving. Cello player &lt;strong&gt;Djoeke Klijzing &lt;/strong&gt;writes and sings original, poetic lyrics and melodies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Martijn Grootendorst &lt;/strong&gt;and &lt;strong&gt;Saskia Meijs &lt;/strong&gt;are the &lt;strong&gt;Barockpuppies&lt;/strong&gt;. They create poetry with film, hands and feet, but with little words. Special Guests these two days are the guitar players.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Paulinho Paes &lt;/strong&gt;and  tropet player &lt;strong&gt;Roger Brito &lt;/strong&gt;. They raised in Atibaia. The duo has developed an extensive repertoire of Brazilian music since 2007.Blending Choros and Sambas with diverse influences, such as Flamenco and jazz,they present innovations to ol standards, as well as new compositions .&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The instrumental group &lt;b&gt;Diogo Guanabara &amp;amp;&lt;/b&gt; &lt;b&gt;Macaxeira Jazz&lt;/b&gt; was created in  Natal (Brazil), in 2004. This young and promising group  combines Jazz with Brazilians styles like Bossa Nova,   Frevo, Samba and Baião. You will hear also elements of  Blues, Funk, Salsa and Bolero. You could almost say with a guitar in his hands. He had already started playing Brazilian folk music by the time he was eight. Barely four years later, he was working as a professional musician. As a soloist, Rogério Bicudo plays Brazilian Choros and Valsas, in addition to a classical repertoire. Choro is a musical genre that came into being in Rio de Janeiro at the end of the 19th century, a cross between European classical music and African and Brazilian rhythms.
